    Perfect for Valentine’s Day:
Don’t go Breakin My Heart – Elton John & Kiki Dee

Islands in the Stream – Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers

  2. Leo Sadovy

Some songs that I think might be fun to do:

“Wall of Death” – Griffith and Thompson

    “Eli’s Coming” – Laura Nyro

“My Heart Will Go On” (Doo-wop style)

  3. Cade Lambert

Couple songs I thought would sound great at Pop-up Chorus.

Murder By Death – I Came Around

The Decemberists – Down By The River

  4. Kate Shipman

Participated in Popup last night for the first time and LOVED it!!! Two suggestions for future songs:

  5. Annie H

    How about MacArthur Park?
“Someone left my cake out in the rain,
I don’t know if I can take it,
Cause it took so long to make it…
And I’ll never have that recipe again,

  6. Rob P

Any song from ‘Big Plans for Everybody’ by Let’s Active. North Carolina, music legend, you know you want to.

  7. Aaron!

If you have the courage to tackle a mashup I think it could be really cool to split the chorus in two.

Every Car You Chase (Snow Patrol + Sting)

  8. Aaron!

Someone else mentioned New Pornographers which is a solid suggestion based on the vocal harmonies.

If you want to melodic – Myriad Harbour

If you want a screamer – Letter From an Occupant

  9. Scott

Regina Spektor – You’ve Got Time ( Theme from Orange Is The New Black )
It might be fun to have a theme song night.

  10. Derek

This would be challenging but really bring together everything that’s is special and fun about those special and fun nights – multiparts, silly made up words, and even some horns!

    tUnE-yArDs – Bizness:

  11. Mark

Cruel to be Kind (Nick Lowe’s original version is the best, but the Letters to Cleo version has lyrics in the video)

  12. alecgzp

This is a song that I think would be a lot of fun, done by a band from Pittsburgh called The Clarks. Check it out

    Shimmy Low- The Clarks

  13. BWB

The Beatles –You Never Give Me Your Money. Great melody and harmonies, plus it changes up in the middle (One Sweet Dream) so it’s almost like we would be singing two songs in one.

  14. Melvin

I’d really love to celebrate the area by trying out Megafaun’s “love letter to Durham,” the wonderful “Carolina Days.”

  15. Mimi

SImon and Garfunkel- The Boxer OR Cecilia could be fun:
(ok I’ll stop clogging the lines for a bit)

  16. sgrahamnc

    Bank Robber – The Clash
Another great song by the Clash. This one would be a whole lot of fun to give the Pop Up treatment. Lots of parts, oooo, and ahhhs. Even a part for kazoo!

  17. Sean Graham

Train In Vain – The Clash

One of the best songs by the best band of the 70’s-80’s.
This is a “lost love” song that would be great sung by Pop Up.

  18. TJ

Because it is so much fun to sing this song and it seems like everyone knows the lyrics…

    Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.

Yeah, I know but everyone seems to smile when they sing it.

  19. Everittnc

I really think this could be lovely.

Whenever I call you friend, Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks

  20. dilipb

Kelly, I didn’t post it, but if I had “1979” by Smashing Pumpkins in mind, too! I’m glad that you added it. Happy New Year, all!
